Understanding Our Scope of Services
Home Care Services of South Florida is registered with the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration as a Homemaker and Companion Services provider. This means we are authorized to provide non-medical support services only.
There is an important distinction under Florida law between homemaker and companion services and personal care or home health services. Personal care services such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and medication assistance fall under a different category of licensure and are provided by licensed home health agencies or certified nursing assistants working under medical supervision.
We want every family to fully understand this distinction so they can make the right choice for their loved one’s level of need.
Services We Do NOT Provide
- Bathing, showering, or sponge baths

- Toileting or incontinence care
- Transferring or repositioning (moving from bed to chair, etc.)
